Crista Moore is a two time Tony Award nominee, Crista made an extraordinary Broadway debut starring in the title role of the Tony Award winning revival of GYPSY, opposite Tyne Daly, & working directly with the show’s original creators, including Stephen Sondheim, Arthur Laurents & Jule Styne. She won a Theater World Award, and was nominated for Tony, Drama Desk & Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance. Crista next starred on Broadway as Susan in BIG, again earning her Tony, Drama Desk & Outer Critics nominations for Best Actress.
Known for her versatility, Crista has been tapped for leading roles in Broadway plays as well, which include Zelda in WAITING IN THE WINGS, opposite Lauren Bacall, Jane in Manhattan Theater Club’s ABSURD PERSON SINGULAR, and Tom Stoppard’s JUMPERS at the Brooks Atkinson Th, directed by David Leveaux.
At Lincoln Center, with New York City Opera, Crista starred in the title role of CINDERELLA, in the New York stage premiere of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s classic musical. She also starred as Eileen in WONDERFUL TOWN (chosen by Betty Comden & Adolph Green) , and as Snookie in 110 IN THE SHADE working with Tom Jones & Harvey Schmidt.
First National Tours include starring as Polly in CRAZY FOR YOU, choreographed by Susan Stroman and originating the role of Alice in THE ADDAMS FAMILY, directed by Jerry Zaks and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo.
Recently Crista created the role of Isabella at Radio City Music Hall in their premiere of the New York Spring Spectacular, directed by Warren Carlyle and Diane Paulus.
Off Broadway includes the role of Julia in Winnie Holtzman’s BIRDS OF PARADISE, Bella in (the first revival of) RAGS, creating the role of Laura in David Ives LONG AGO & FAR AWAY at Ensemble Studio Theatre, creating the role of Leigh in STARS IN YOUR EYES at the Cherry Lane,The Widow in ZORBA at the York Theatre’s Musicals In Mufti, Elmire in TARTUFFE, and recently NASSIM at New York City Center.
Travels across the country to star in Regional Theater productions include such notable roles as Eliza in MY FAIR LADY (Geva Th, Cincinnati Playhouse, St Louis Rep), Sarah Brown in GUYS & DOLLS (Longwharf Th), Janet in the ROCKY HORROR SHOW (Actors Th of Louisville), Maria in THE SOUND OF MUSIC (Sacramento Music Circus), Elsa in SOUND OF MUSIC (Ogunquit Playhouse), Cassie in A CHORUS LINE (Geva), Martha Jefferson in 1776, The Actress in THE GUARDSMAN (Cleveland Play House), & speaking entirely in French as Lucille in Ackbourne’s HOUSE AND GARDEN wherein two different plays are performed simultaneously on two different stages by one cast.
In 2016, Crista inaugurated Disney’s new Female Broadway Guest Artist program, exclusive to Disney Cruise Line’s ship The Magic, and starred as Mother Gothel in their brand new stage version of TANGLED.
