JACK O’BRIEN- Jack O’Brien is a renowned and distinguished American director, producer, writer and lyricist. Mr. O’Brien has won 3 TONY AWARDS for Best Direction, was nominated for 8 more, and has 5 DRAMA DESK AWARDS to his name. He has directed and produced hit musicals like Hairspray and The Full Monty, contemporary dramas such as The Invention of Love and The Coast of Utopia, and Shakespearean classics like Hamlet, Henry IV, and Macbeth. Mr. O’Brien’s body of work extends to over 40 award-winning Broadway shows including Catch Me If You Can, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Front Page, It’s Only a Play, Damn Yankees, The Nance, Dead Accounts, The Most Happy Fella, Impressionism, Imaginary Friends, More to Love, Getting Away With Murder, Pride’s Crossing, The Little Foxes, Hapgood (Lucille Lortel Award, best director),Two Shakespearean Actors, Porgy and Bess, and the currently running new Broadway musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Additional credits include Metropolitan Opera: Il Trittico. Carnegie Hall: Guys and Dolls. Public Theater Central Park: Much Ado About Nothing. London: Love Never Dies, Hairspray (Olivier nomination). National Theatre: His Girl Friday. Artistic Director of the Old Globe Theatre, 1981-2007.
