Patricia most recently appeared with Emma Thompson, Bryn Terfel and Audra McDonald in the New York Philharmonic’s production of SWEENEY TODD which will air on PBS this Halloween. She is thrilled and honored to have been the first woman of African American descent to play the Tony Award winning role of Carlotta in the longest running show on Broadway, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. Other Broadway credits include the Tony Award winning productions of LA BOHME, THE SECRET GARDEN and THE SOUND OF MUSIC. She can be heard on all three original cast recordings on DreamWorks, Columbia and RCA Victor. Other New York Credits include JERRY SPRINGER THE OPERA with Harvey Keitel at Carnegie Hall, LOST IN THE STARS at the “Encores!” series and the title role of MOTHERBONE at The New Dramatists Guild. Television credits include “The Tony Awards,” “The Sopranos” and Film: EVERYBODY’S FINE with Robert DeNiro. Patricia’s concert work includes performances with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, The Indianapolis Symphony, The Pittsburgh Symphony, The Bay Area Symphony, The Sioux City Symphony, The River City Brass Band, and The Virginia Symphony. Patricia has received awards and recognition from organizations including The Steinway Society, The Pittsburgh Concert Society and The National Association of Teachers of Singing. Patricia currently serves on the faculty at The New York University Tisch School of the Arts in the New Broadway School and at New Jersey City University in the Music, Dance and Theatre Department. She considers her son, David, her finest production to date.
