Known for starring on television as Tom Levitt on the NBC hit series SMASH, and his most recent television role as Max Dettweiler in THE SOUND OF MUSIC LIVE! with Carrie Underwood, Christian Borle’s Broadway career is equally impressive. In 2012, Christian won a TONY AWARD for Best Featured Actor in a Play for his critically acclaimed performance as Black Stache in PETER AND THE STARCATCHER. He originated the roles of Prince Herbert and the Historian in Broadway’s Tony winning musical SPAMALOT, for which he won a Clarence Derwent Award and a Drama Desk nomination. Mr. Borle also famously originated the role of Emmet Forest in LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL, for which he scored Tony, Drama League and Drama Desk nominations. Additional starring roles on Broadway include MARY POPPINS, THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE, AMOUR, JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, and FOOTLOOSE.
Off Broadway, Christian’s credits include LITTLE ME (Encores!), ANGELS IN AMERICA (Signature Theatre Company’s 20th Anniversary production), ON THE TOWN (Encores!), and ELEGIES: A SONG CYCLE (Lincoln Center).
