C J Greer

CJ has found her passion in vocal performance and instruction. She has performed around the world from theme park to Broadway, including a year in Japan performing in both English and Japanese. She is a singer, actor, teacher, conductor and musical director with an undying love for storytelling, and inspiring others to find their unique story and voice in the music. CJ’s goal is to redefine vocal performance expectations by passionately teaching singers awareness of their body and breath in order to more fully connect with material in auditions and on the stage. As an instructor, CJ offers workshops in various topics relating to vocal technique & performance, audition technique, and industry business.  Most recently she premiered her new workshop in NYC working with CAP 21 students on Embodying Performance – a performance lab experience using speech, movement, and singing techniques from many of the reputable methodologies, fusing this work with our singing and acting technique in auditions, rehearsal and performance.  She carries a BME from the University of Illinois, and MFA and MM in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy, both classical and musical theatre, from Penn State University.

CJ Greer As a performer, CJ has received multiple Helen Hayes Award nominations for solo and ensemble regional performances in the DC area. Broadway/Nat’l Tour credits include Sister Act, Les Miserables, The Producers, Ragtime, I Love A Piano, The Buddy Holly Story; Regional Credits: Chess (NC Raleigh), Camelot (Olney), Grease (Casa Manana), Saving Aimee/Scandalous (Signature Theatre), Crazy For You (Arvada), The Happy Time (Signature Theatre), She Loves Me, The Addams Family, Into the Woods, Guys and Dolls, Man of La Mancha, Secret Garden, and more.
